Happy Easter!
The truth is, this blog post should have been titled Happy Trekking (it’s more relatable), considering the absurd rule that was passed in Lagos yesterday.
How is this even a smart move? A president is visiting a very crucial state in his country, and he decided to shut it down because his Escalade would get stuck if other cars are on the road. Again, how is this a smart move?
If this even makes any sense, then why are cars allowed to move around in Abuja anyway, we should just dedicate the whole capital city to his Majesty’s daily movement!
Actually, a good number of people believe the president is in Lagos for Jagaban’s (Bola Tinubu) birthday, and this is the real reason behind the ridiculous order. I’m not so sure about the validity of this news, but this is the story trending on the streets of Twitter.
Anyways, let’s look on the bright side
We Got a 3-Day Holiday!!! Yippeee!!!
Who doesn’t like a holiday in Nigeria? It was fun while I was a secondary student, but it’s way better now as a 9-6 person. Finally, you get a break from that computer and that boss that always wants to annoy the core of your existence!
On this side, none of us got to experience the roadblock, so we really can’t stress the whole incident. Instead of leaving the island yesterday for Isheri, I decided to wait and it was totally worth it, I’m pretty sure it would have been a case of de javu – just like one of my numerous Lagos traffic experiences.
This morning, I left Ajah earlier than usual and the road was so free, I totally lost faith in my eyesight! I can’t wait to check back on Tuesday morning, can literally picture the traffic smiling at us.
Well, the holiday isn’t so long but it would go a long way in relaxing our nerves though. We don’t know your plans, but over here, we plan to enjoy the life of our head! We hope you do same. The malls, beaches, and restaurants will be overflowing, so family time isn’t really a bad idea.
May this Easter season bring you all the goodies you’ve ever yearned for in life and give you a better reason to smile all through the year.
